A gorgeous day, about 43 F. here and 5 C. in P.S. Quite cold overnight, about 11 F. and not too warm all day on Thursday.

We are celebrating our state of the art facilities at the cottage. A very nice out house, good grey water pits, a 500 gallon water tank with gravity feed and lotts of propane to heat it and to cook on. We are celebrating this because here in the city we are roughing it this week. A new sewer line is under construction and new waste lines to go with it. Would we ever be happy here with an out house and a grey water pit.

And then there is the impending bill.

This was a visitor last year on July 4th. When he isn't
looking down at us on our deck. He is snoozing in the
same location in the same tree.
Here in the south we have 34 degrees F. and rising, with a steady light snow. In P.S. it is -6 and dropping. Also light snow.

With the Tories in the Canadian dollar has beeen soaring. Up more than a cent this week. Perhaps good for Canada, but not good for me.

The new year is surely underway now. We are going through the usual nonsense trying to get a teleconference set up for the SCA executive.

I have to keep this up, the chief wonk is watching.

It is 40 degrees F. here right now aand we lost the Sun about a half hour ago. We were down to about 25 degrees overnight, but the morning was glorious with the world coated with rime as though it had been spray painted. Parry Sound on the other hand s at -1 with light blowing snow. In other words, winter.

As expected the Tories are in and the Liberals are mostly out. It is most likely a good tun of events.
It is being said that George Bush just got a friend. I don't think so. After all there are copnsevatives and then there is Bush. I expect much more of Harper than we have seen, or ever will for that matter, from bush.

A bit of Snow in the air this morning, but the temp was 34 F and rising. Our afternoon trip back from Roch required sun glasses and we were up to 48 F. No winter yet. On the othe hand P. S. had minus temp and overcast. If this weather continues we will miss the Janeary thaw completely.

I am not the only one now a days, we both are increasingly having thoughts about the Cottage, and it seems that we both, these days, are making preparations for our shift north.

Another unwinterlike day. About 40 degrees here in the south and about -2 C in Parry Sound. Nice and sunny in both places. We are prepping for our spring excursion and will be ready to roll on our water testing duties and our other environmental projects as well. The water monitors will meet in late April or early May. We will likely begin a new protocal that will be easier for others to use.

It looks to us like there will be a new government in place by the time we get back home to P. S.

We had about two weeks of winter just before winter began officialy. The following five weeks have been decidedly spring like. Sixty degrees farenheit rightnow, about three dfegrees celsius in Parry Sound. Parry Sound did see snow early on, but it is mostly gone and the lake is covered with mush, where it is covered at all. Makes me begin packing gear.
